This post has been a while in coming, but here we go. Thula Bora, a Glaswegian band who released their album last year and are releasing a new single later this year. They’ve asked me to listen to the lead track from the album Mind River Matter, which is available in all the usual places and streamed, below.
The tracks’s pretty reminiscent of early Primal Scream (a comparison that’s been made by everyone else) and more recently, Yuck, but stands up well enough by itself – the end section with those circling guitar melodies reminds me of mid-Noughties rock (I’m thinking Hush Sound and The Sunshine Underground here). I’m going to spend the next hour listening to the rest of the album.
