Actually I don’t know if they like fighting. I don’t like it, but I was searching for a snappy title. In any case, A Fight You Can’t Win have a new EP that I should have reviewed like a fortnight ago. Here it is – belatedly – but here at last.
I’ve covered them a couple of times before, and as you can probably tell I like them a fair amount. Every Last Breath is four tracks long and includes the previous single Shout First/Last Words on the end.
Well, it’s more of a grunge-focused sound than before; the introductory guitar twang on Shedding Skin could have been stripped from a Green River song but then go a bit mental on the chorus, switching from grunge to hardcore punk. The same goes for number two on the record, Short Hair.
See, it’s this unpredictability that I like about AFYCW, the feeling that they could just fly off the handle and play guitar right in your face, loudly, until you start tapping your feet.
