I’ve been awfully bad at keeping up the blog during the last two weeks of the Fringe. I have good excuses – too many to be listed here – but to make it up to you, I’ll post a Lucky Dip. After that, there is an EP review somewhere and an album review a bit after that. So bear with me*.

First blast from the canon is from Tiny Birds. I reviewed a single from them like, ages ago, and really liked it. So I decided to include their new one now. It’s embedded below (and you can download it for free).

Second volley is from Father Sculptor. They’ve been writing and releasing a new song every fortnight of the summer. Below is their latest sally.
“The album is called ‘…and Other Tales‘, it is a début album about life and death, love and sorrow, sex and dreams. Recorded on analogue in one take, it is raw and schizophrenic. It is the sound of someone ripping their heart out of their chest and forcing it in your face. Natalie Pryce are a garage artrock band with jazz and blues inflections that focus on the kind of atmosphere David Lynch makes films out of.”
Put that way, Natalie Pryce sound just like the kind of Fringe-pricks that hang outside Bedlam Theatre late at night smoking roll-ups and discussing Arthur Miller. If you needed convincing of that fact, their website blurb is right here. I’m going to embed a video thing but the link to listen to the album is here (remember, Soundcloud players screw with my code).
In the meantime, I’d like to report the fact that eagleowl are planning on releasing their eagerly anticipated (see what I did there?) debut album at the end of the yeah.So yeah. That should do it for this week. Have fun, enjoy the Festival, go mental.
