
The last major, highstreet retailer of music in the United Kingdom has died a dog’s death, and everyone is writing articles about how much they’ll miss it. I won’t miss HMV because when I went in at Christmas they didn’t have a single copy of Moonrise Kingdom for sale, but instead they had a whole room where you could try out the Playstation games before you could buy them, and that seemed somewhat unjust.
But, since shouting is what one is supposed to do when inside an echo chamber, I might as well contribute two memories to the time capsule.
Cyclists of Edinburgh
Yesterday I found a neat little blog called Edinburgh Cycle Chic. It combines street photography and a desire to “celebrate the people of Edinburgh who ride bicycles (mainly as a way of getting from A to B) wearing ordinary clothes, because you don’t have to wear Lycra.” I know what you’re thinking: how very Edinburgh.
